Julian Brazier meets Minister to discuss Whitstable issues

Sir Julian Brazier today led a delegation to see DEFRA minster Therese Coffey to discuss legal impediments to essential flood defence work in Whitstable and the current issues on Whitstable beach. The meeting was also attended by Cllr Simon Cook, Leader of Canterbury City Council, Cllr Ashley Clark, who represents Gorrell ward in Whitstable, and an official from Canterbury City Council’s legal team.

Julian commented "Therese listened carefully to the problems and flooding and a possible way around the legal problems with coast defences on a designated site was outlined. It was also useful to be able to register our concerns about Whitstable beach."
